A great example of heteroglossia

(( ok I tried a couple times to repost with spoiler tags and I can't get the code to work SO, GOOD JOB ME, I'LL DELETE THAT PART I GUESS sorry ))

Thanks so much for continuing to translate and post these translated sections. I just finished playing Ultra Despair Girls with my husband a few weeks ago, and cannot wait for the concluding anime to be released and translated (into subtitles at least). Although Togami doesn't say a lot in UDG, his growth as a character is pretty phenomenal as evidenced by his actions (i.e. essentially risking his own capture to the Monokuma hordes to allow Komaru Naegi to escape a certain death).

This section feels like literary and popular culture allusions are being thrown about like shirukens, which makes it feel a bit unintelligible at this point. But I'm sure that's the intended effect. In any case, the characters in this novel are so full of sass and wit that I can see why you put the Kirigiri novel translation on hiatus. I loved Kirigiri in DR1, but you're right that we don't get that much more insight about her upbringing, character or complicated relationship with her father. In fact, DR Zero lends much more richness to this. (Though in terms of writing style, this is the best of the three novels so far.)

Keep up the good work when you can.
